Former Karo Paminal Hendra Kurniawan Was Sentenced To 3 Years In Prison

Jakarta - Former Karo Paminal of the National Police's Propam Division, Hendra Kurniawan was found guilty in the case of obstruction of justice or obstruction to the investigation into the cause of the death of Yosua alias Brigadier J. Hakim sentenced Hendra to three years in prison.

"The defendant Hendra Kurniawan was sentenced to three years in prison," said Chief Judge Akhmad Suhel during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Monday, February 27.

Not only fines, but the panel of judges also imposed a fine. The amount reached Rp. 20 million, a subsidiary of three months in prison.

The verdict for Hendra Kurniawan was based on various considerations from the panel of judges. For burdensome matters, one of them is unprofessional as a member of the Bhayangkara Corps.

"The defendant was not honest in giving information during the trial," said Judge Suhel.

Meanwhile, the mitigating factor is that the defendant, former Karo Paminal, has never been convicted and also has family responsibilities.

The verdict of the panel of judges is in accordance with the demands of the public prosecutor (JPU). This is because at the previous trial Hendra Kurniawan was sentenced to 3 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 20 million.
