The Case Of UPH Student Protection Delegated By The Tangerang Metro Police, 6 Witnesses Examined

TANGERANG - The case of abuse experienced by Univestias Pelita Harapan (UPH) student, AS was finally transferred to the Tangerang City Metro Police. Because the location of the incident was in the Pinang area, Tangerang City.

The Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho confirmed that the US abuse case had been transferred to its place.

Previously, cases of abuse allegedly committed by BK against AS had occurred since 2022. However, it was finally reported at the South Tangerang Police on February 15, 2023.

"Approximately 5 days ago we delegated the handling of the UPH student case where it happened after we checked it was in Panunggangan Pinang, so it was at the border," Zain said in his statement seen on Sunday, February 26.

Zain explained that his party is still investigating the case. Recently, six witnesses have been questioned regarding the abuse case.

"Yesterday, the victim's parents and witness friends were reported to be around 6," he said.

In addition, to explore the case, said Zain, his party also plans to conduct a case title. This was done by his party, after all the witnesses in the case were carried out.

"Currently we are still in the investigation process, after checking everything, we will conduct a case title," he concluded.

For previous information, a student at Pelita Harapan University (UPH) with the initials AS experienced physical violence and threats by his ex-girlfriend, BK. He reported it to the South Tangerang Police.

"It's been a post-mortem report, it's been BAP, it's been boarded by PPA," the US said when confirmed, Saturday night. UPH campus confirmed that there were reports of female students claiming to have been abused by their ex-girlfriends. On that basis, UPH processed the student complaint according to the procedure of his party.

"It is true that we have received a report from the student concerned, and this has been responded to according to the procedure by the UPH examining team," said Public Relations UPH.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the South Tangerang Police, Ipda Galih, confirmed that his party had received the report.

"That it is true that we from the South Tangerang Police, on February 15, 2023, received the police report from the US which reported alleged acts of abuse," said Galih in his statement.
