JAKARTA - Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lt. Gen. Suharyanto stated that the Indonesian emergency medical team (EMT) had extended its tenure for humanitarian missions to handle earthquake victims with a magnitude of 7.8 in Turkey. "Still living in Turkey is a health team of 115 people," said Suharyanto after his arrival with members of INASAR at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, Friday, February 24. Suharyanto said the health team was temporarily extended to February 28, 2023. His party was still waiting for further developments from the Turkish government for the earthquake management period. In addition, one unit of Hercules TNI AD aircraft was also alerted in Turkey and asked to continue carrying out the task. The aircraft is on standby until March 2, 2023.

Suharyanto said the Turkish government had stopped the search, rescue and evacuation process. So today, together with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy and 50 members of the Indonesian search and rescue team (INASAR) returned to Indonesia after sending logistical assistance.
