JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government together with the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya have again conducted a legal compliance test or raid on motor vehicle emission tests from February 21 to November 16, 2023.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, explained that the emission test raid was still socialization and no ticket had been carried out. The selection of vehicles for checking emission tests is carried out randomly.
"We are working with Polda Metro Jaya to conduct a legal compliance test for emission tests in 2023. Later we will random check whether the vehicle has passed the emission test or not," Asep told reporters, Thursday, February 23.
When the vehicle is stopped, the officer will check the vehicle number to check whether the motorized vehicle has carried out an emission test or not.
If they have passed the emission test, then drivers are welcome to continue their journey. However, if not, they will be asked to immediately go to the workshop that serves vehicle emission tests.
"We will first check the number (vehicle) whether it has carried out an emission test or not. If it has not and it turns out that it has not passed the emission test, we will socialize it. We will tell you where the emission test places are everywhere and the obligations are," explained Asep.
To date, there have been 806,890 four-wheeled vehicles and 68,714 two-wheeled vehicles that have carried out emission tests. Now, there are 339 four-wheeled emission test workshops and 107 two-wheeled emission test workshops in the capital.
