Fines For PSBB Violators In South Jakarta Reach IDR 870 Million

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) has taken action against 3,339 violators of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) and transitional PSBB during the period 5 June 2020 to 5 January 2021.

Kasatpol PP South Jakarta, Ujang Harmawan, said that out of the 3,339 violations, administrative fines of Rp. 870 million were recorded.

"Fines were collected from violations of the PSBB in surveillance activities carried out at the city, sub-district to urban village levels," said Ujang as quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 7,

During the seven month period, the South Jakarta Satpol PP also took action against a number of business establishments that violated the provisions of the PSBB.

Penalties in the form of a written warning were given to 55 business places that violated them. Most violations of 153 business places were given sanctions in the form of closure for 1x24 hours. "There is also a 3x24 hour closing sanction, there are five business establishments in total," said Ujang.

Ujang reminded residents and business owners in South Jakarta to comply with the PSBB, especially on January 11-25, 2021, the central government imposed a policy of tightening restrictions on community movement.
