The investigation team for Sub-Directorate IV of Women and Children Services (PPA), the Maluku Police Ditreskrimum, arrested IM, perpetrators of sexual intercourse and sexual abuse of minors in Ambon City. This resident in Sirimau sub-district, Ambon City, is suspected of having sex and molesting SM, a neighbor's son. The act was carried out from 2020 to 2023. The victim is now 11 years old. IM is suspected of violating Article 81 and Article 82 of Law (UU) RI Number 17 of 2016 concerning Perpu Number 01 of 2016 concerning the second amendment to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2002 concerning child protection into Law in conjunction with Article 76D and Article 76E of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2014 concerning amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2002 concerning child protection and or Article 6 letter a of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 12 of 2022 concerning criminal acts of sexual violence. "The suspect has been detained at the Maluku Police detention center. The suspect is threatened with imprisonment for a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 5 billion," said Ohoirat. The incident began around May 2020. The suspect molested the victim twice. Then on January 3, 2023, the suspect had sex with her 4 times a day. "The suspect's actions have had a bad impact on the psychology of child victims," he said. Ohoirat said the suspect committed sexual immorality and sexual intercourse at the victim's house in the Sirimau District, Ambon City. The victim is a neighbor.
