Considering The Acquisition Of The 2017 DKI Gubernatorial Election, The Voxpol Value Of Anies-Sandi Potentially Paired In The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - Executive Director of the Voxpol Center Research and Consulting Pangi Syarwi Chaniago said the Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno pair had the potential to be duet for the 2024 General Election.

"The Anies-Sandi pair won the Jakarta governor election in 2017 thanks to the effective campaign, pro-people programs, broad support from the community and succeeded in touching millennials to play an active role in politics through the use of technology and social media," he said in a written statement, Tuesday, February 21.

According to him, the pair who won the electoral competition in Jakarta five years ago should be a consideration for the political elites who determine policies in Indonesia.

He explained that the experience of the last five years leading Jakarta put Anies worthy of being a presidential candidate. Even in various surveys, his name has always been in the top three most potential presidential candidates which NasDem has ultimately proposed as a presidential candidate from his party.

"Similarly with Sandiaga Uno, his experience and achievements in the ministry have made his name shine even more and get worse, and have always been in the spotlight of the media thanks to his hard work in reviving the passion of Indonesian tourism after the COVID-19 outbreak," he said.

Pangi assessed that the combination of the two figures is very worthy to be reconsidered. Given the achievements and performance capacity they have both in terms of experience and achievement, intellectual capacity and network they have are very relevant to Indonesia's future needs in facing increasingly difficult economic challenges.

"The latest findings of the Voxpol Center Research and Consulting survey conducted in November 2022 show the huge potential for the Anies-Sandi pair to be paired as presidential and vice presidential candidates," he asserted.

The reason, he said, was that in terms of Anies' popularity was in second place with 80.7 percent popularity and Sandiaga was in third place with 77.4 percent popularity. While Prabowo is ranked first with 93 percent popularity and Ganjar is in fourth place with 74.7 percent popularity.

In terms of electability, Anies won the highest electability as a presidential candidate with 23.6 percent, followed by Ganjar Pranowo with 22 percent in second place and Prabowo with 18.6 percent in third place.

"Anies-Sandi will advance to class not only for Jakarta but for Indonesia," he said.
