JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Religion Zainut Tauhid Sa'adi reminded zakat managers not to be influenced by political dynamics, both local and national, especially when entering the political year. "Baznas and LAZ must uphold the principles of imparity in the management of the people's funds," said the Deputy Minister of Religion when closing the Zakat National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 21. Zainut said that zakat institutions actually must have a commitment to improve the quality of zakat governance that is trustworthy, transparent, and accountable. According to him, zakat management requires harmonization of the regulation and standardization of the monitoring system as an essential component in strengthening national zakat governance. Indonesia, he said, is a country with the largest number of zakat management institutions in the world. This condition becomes a transformative force in the development of the umm and at the same time a challenge in maintaining the spirit in the national zakat movement. "As we know, zakat is a social social sector of sharia that has a place and a significant role. The contribution of zakat is not sufficient just to be calculated, but is expected to be taken into account in the future. in the future, it is expected to be taken into account in the nation's development," he said.
