The Banjarmasin Basarnas CONTINUES To Search For Jamal Who Drowned In The Barito River

The Banjarmasin Basarnas deployed a team to find a fisherman who drowned in the Barito River in Aluh-Aluh District, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan.

"The victim is missing on behalf of Jamal (35) until Monday night, a search is still being carried out by combing the area around the sinking of the victim," said Head of the Banjarmasin Search and Rescue Office Al Amrad in Banjarmasin, Monday, February 20, as reported by Antara.

A team of five Basarnas people to the location using the RIB fleet departed from the Basirih Banjarmasin SAR pier since Monday afternoon, after receiving reports of the incident.

He hopes that the victim who was reported to have drowned can be found as soon as possible safe.

According to survivors, Miji (40), told Basarnas officers, initially the five of them searched for fish in the waters of the Aluh-Aluh area on Monday morning using a small engine boat or what local residents called a kelotok.

At 16.00 WITA, the victims went home. However, unfortunately the kelotok used they experienced engine failure until they were swayed by the waves and finally drowned.

"So the five of them had swam to the shore shortly after the boat started sinking but when it arrived at the edge there were only four people, while one person disappeared," he said.

The survivors were Miji (40), Danan (70), Fatimah (60), and Zainal Akli (10), all of whom were located at Simpang Warga Dalam RT03, Aluh-Aluh District, Banjar Regency.
