CIBITUNG - Efforts to relocate Cibitung Main Market (PIC) traders in Bekasi Regency from temporary shelters to new stalls were hampered by the internal conflict of the company that won the market rejuvenation project.

Following up on this problem, the Bekasi Regency Government cooperated with the prosecutor's office in its resolution. This step is in accordance with the direction of the Acting Regent of Bekasi Dani Ramdan at a follow-up meeting for the handling of the Cibitung Main Market today.

"What needs to be underlined is that local governments do not interfere in the internal conflicts of companies that are our partners. Gatot explained that the instructions of the regional head were followed up with a request for legal assistance to the Bekasi District Attorney (Kejari) as the state attorney so as not to take the wrong steps.

He said the local government was focused on efforts to help traders occupy a more appropriate and comfortable place to sell. The company's internal conflicts keep traders stuck in temporary shelters which were originally abandoned since January 2023 according to a work contract.

"Because we both know that the condition of traders at the shelter can be said to be very concerning. This is what we encourage so that traders can occupy new stalls so that they can sell in a more appropriate and comfortable place," he said.

The Bekasi Regency Government will also provide compensation for traders who suffer losses due to the company's internal conflicts in the form of free lease fees until there is legal certainty from the conflict in question.

"So far, traders are confused about who to pay? To a branch or central company? Do not let traders be harmed by paying to one of the parties who have not yet issued court results. So until the results of the court's decision, there are no payment transactions," he said.

His party immediately consults and conducts a study with the prosecutor's office and will be followed up by a circular to traders regarding this issue so that they are neither worried nor confused.

It is known that the rejuvenation of the Cibitung Main Market was carried out through a Build, Operate, Transfer (BOT) scheme worth IDR 200 billion by PT Citra Prasasti Konsorindo with a contract agreement for two years starting from September 2021-2023.

The company has the right to manage the largest market in Bekasi Regency, which will be occupied by thousands of traders for the next 30 years before being handed back to the local government.

However, 100 percent have not been completed, there has been a project grab from the original work of PT Citra Prasasti Konsorindo Sampang Branch to PT Citra Prasasti Konsorindo center. The internal conflict resulted in development being stopped in the past two months.
