JAKARTA - The helicopter that was flying was shot by an unknown person (OTK) in Tembagapura, Papua. The joint TNI-Polri team is now pursuing the shooter in Tsinga Village.

Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ahmad Muthofa Kamal, explained that the helicopter that was shot belonged to PT Sayap Garuda Indah. This helicopter was flown by a foreign national pilot. This heli is currently carrying out a GPS survey in the Benangin area, Tembagapura.

"Then the pilot felt the smell of fuel and found a hole in the plane's body," Kamal told reporters, Wednesday, January 6.

After obtaining information about the shooting, personnel from the Mimika Police and Tembagapura Police Criminal Investigation Unit carried out the investigation of the scene and examined the witnesses.

"From this incident there were no casualties. Currently the helicopter is still stand by at the helipad MP 66 Hidden Valley Tembagapura, while the perpetrators are still in pursuit of joint TNI-Polri personnel, "said Kamal.
