JAKARTA - Two vocational high school (SMK) students with the initials RS (16) and MI (16) were targeted victims of persecution by a group of other students when they were about to go home from school using a Vespa motorbike on Jalan Cibubur 8, Ciracas District, East Jakarta.

According to the hospital victim's statement, the perpetrators used 4 motorbikes together. As a result of the incident, the two victims suffered serious injuries to the head. Both of them were forced to get several stitches while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The incident began when the hospital took a friend with the initials MI to go home together. When in the middle of the road, the two victims actually passed each other with a group of students from different schools. The two victims were abused using iron poles.

The hospital said he was the victim of the wrong target by the perpetrators. They managed to survive after the hospital victim tried to spur the Vespa motorbike he was driving to avoid the gang of perpetrators.

"In the middle of the road we were papasan with other students. My head suddenly dizzy like coconut disorder, blood came out (on the head). We said we didn't participate in school issues (complaints between schools). They hit them from the top of the motorbike, one person hit them using a long iron ruler. Backfilled from behind. I got 8 stitches of injuries to the head. What I carried was worse (the wound)," the victim of the hospital told reporters, Friday, February 17.

The incident has been reported to the police to immediately follow up on residents' concerns. Members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Ciracas Police have also visited the location and collected evidence and witnesses. The case is still being handled by the Ciracas Police.

The head of the local RW, Nur Kamil, said that his party hopes that the problems that befell its citizens can be resolved soon by bringing together the victims and the perpetrators. Then the police must also impose sanctions on the perpetrators.

"This is a criminal domain. The officers from the Ciracas Police have followed up on the matter. The police have arrived. Parents are advised to tell their children to go home immediately when they return home from school," he explained.
