There Is A Finding Of Money Laundering Of IDR 500 Trillion In 12 Cooperatives, The DPR Asks For PPATK Gercep To Coordinate With The Police And The Attorney General's Office

Member of Commission III of the House of Representatives Andi Rio Idris Padjalangi asked the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center to coordinate with the police and prosecutors regarding the findings of money laundering in 12 savings and loan cooperatives worth IDR 500 trillion.

"Don't let many people become victims, such as the Indosurya Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP) case, then PPATK (Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center) must move quickly and prove it," Andi Rio said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Thursday, February 16, as reported by Antara.

He said, the crime of money laundering (TPPU) in the KSP business was very massive and the flow of funds was fairly easy to do. Even abroad.

That's why he is worried that such a crime model can be repeated. Do not let the flow of funds become difficult to trace back and disappear from monitoring.

"PPATK itself has not been included in the membership of The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) which is an international standard institution. Of course, this will be difficult to uncover money laundering that runs abroad," he said.

The Deputy Chairman of the Honorary Council of the House of Representatives (MKD) encourages PPATK not only to focus on economic money laundering cases, but also to trace the flow of funds from online drug dealers and gambling which are often controlled from abroad.

"This is homework that we are waiting for from PPATK to be able to make it happen in 2023," he said.

Previously, February 14 yesterday, PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana admitted that he found that there were 12 KSPs suspected of carrying out the Indosurya TPPU during the 2020-2022 period.

"The total amount of funds exceeds Rp500 trillion when it comes to cases that have been handled by cooperatives," Ivan said at a Joint Working Meeting of Commission III of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta.
