JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) received assets resulting from the handling of corruption crimes from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) worth IDR 56.7 billion which has permanent legal force.
"Assets in the form of a plot of land and a building unit from the KPK will be used in the implementation of immigration services to the community," said Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna H. Laoly during the handover of the status of use (PSP) of state property (BMN) originating from state booty in Jakarta, Thursday 16 February.
The Minister of Law and Human Rights said that so far immigration services and the operation of the North Jakarta Immigration Office have been carried out in the shophouse complex which is rented from third parties every year. With the assets handed over by the KPK, in the future it can be used to serve the community.
Yasonna hopes that the land and buildings that have been received can improve immigration services for the community. The assets received will be recorded in the BMN Accounting Management Information System (SIMAK) so that the listing of assets is clear and accountable.
Currently, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights is still waiting for the PSP process from the KPK in the form of land and buildings for the State Confiscation Object Storage House (Rupbasan) Bandung, North Jakarta Rupasan, and South Jakarta Rupbasan. In addition to the three work units, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights still opens up opportunities to receive PSP BMN from state booty for other assets.
"We continue to encourage the KPK to strengthen government institutions, not to commit criminal acts of corruption," said Yasonna, quoted by Antara.
Previously, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights submitted a request for PSP for confiscated goods from the KPK in the form of land covering an area of 2,700 square meters, and a building covering an area of 1,994.5 square meters with building use rights in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
In addition to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) also received assets from the KPK worth IDR 1.1 billion in the form of land and buildings located in Buah Batu District, Bandung.
