PAPUA - The Jayapura City Police Resmob Team arrested Rifkilino alias Luis Tutti (40) in Kotaraja, Jayapura City, who is a recidivist in an inter-regional motorcycle theft case in Papua. Jayapura City Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Victor Mackbon, said Luis was arrested on January 2 in Kotaraja, but this is the first time this has been revealed to the public because members are still searching for the stolen motorbikes that have been sold. From the suspect's hands 19 motorcycles were secured. A total of 10 units of them have police reports. The suspect did various modes so that the motorcycle driver wanted to take off his motorbike, even handing over his cell phone or cellphone. Luis carried out his actions in Jayapura City and Regency and sold the stolen goods to collectors in both areas but also to Sarmi Regency and Keerom Regency. Luis launched his own action since 2010. It was recorded that more than 100 motorcycles were stolen and sold for IDR 2-3 million. The stolen motorbikes that have not been sold are stored at the suspect's house in Arso, Keerom Regency. Luis admitted that he had been in and out of correctional institutions with the same case. Amandus Bomboibo, one of the victims whose motorcycle was taken away by the suspect in December 2021, explained that at that time the perpetrator pretended to ask to be escorted to the Jayapura Regional Government area on the Doyo red mountain. "I was able to take him to the red mountain, then the perpetrator asked to be escorted by a materai and after that the perpetrator asked him to bring the motorbike and himself on a ride, suddenly he said his materai fell so he asked for help to take it, that's when the perpetrator fled with the motorbike," Amandus explained shortly before receiving back the stolen motorbike.
