JAKARTA - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) senior investigator Novel Baswedan also commented on the inauguration of 38 officials in the new anti-graft commission structure.

He assessed that the fatter the position structure at the KPK shows the less seriousness of this institution in eradicating corruption and in fact it looks busy multiplying positions to place certain people.

"I am concerned that the corruption eradication agenda seems less serious and is actually busy with multiplying positions for placement of people," Novel said when contacted by reporters, Wednesday, January 6.

The KPK leadership, he said, should focus on the agenda of eradicating corruption. Not even busy dividing positions. Moreover, high-ranking officers from the National Police were filled with these new positions.

"The leadership should understand that one of the important things that must be done by the KPK is the eradication of corruption in the law enforcement sector. However, what happened was that there were 21 echelon 1 and 2 positions in the KPK, 7 were filled by Polri officers, meaning 1/3 of it," he said. .

Novel later regretted this because he considered that the KPK leadership in the era of Firli Bahuri seemed to have forgotten what the anti-corruption commission should have done.

"On the other hand, the agenda of eradicating corruption in the law enforcement sector is hardly a concern at all," he said.

As previously reported, at the KPK's Red and White House, Jalan Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Firli appointed 38 people, six of whom were high-ranking police officers.

Those who came from the Bhayangkara Corps and were inaugurated on Tuesday, January 5, were Inspector General Karyoto as Deputy for Corruption Eradication and Execution, Brigadier General Didik Agung Widjarnako, Brigadier General Yudhiawan, and Brigadier General Bahtiar Ujang Purnama who were respectively appointed as Coordinating Director for Supervision I, II , and III the KPK.

Then there was also Brigadier General Kumbul Kuswidjanto Sudjadi inaugurated as Director of Community Participation Development of the KPK and Brigadier General Agung Yudha Wibowo as Director of KPK Monitoring.

With the inauguration of six high-ranking officers from the Bhayangkara Corps, currently there are a total of eight KPK structural officers who come from the police and sit in important positions including KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri who is a three-star general or the rank of Commissioner General appointed by President Joko Widodo.
