The Cianjur Regency Government (Pemkab) is trying to repatriate the abandoned Indonesian workers (TKI) because their employers in Jeddah Saudi Arabia have expelled them.

The head of the Manpower and Transmigration Office and the Head of Astakira Cianjur, Endan Hamdani, said that he would immediately coordinate with the Ministry of Manpower and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indonesian Embassy in Saudi Arabia to repatriate the migrant worker whose condition is concerning.

"We have just seen on social media regarding the existence of a migrant worker on behalf of Rosikah from Bunijaya Village, Pagelaran District, Cianjur who was abandoned in Jeddah because her employer kicked out her place of work after being known to be sick," said Endan as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 15.

The migrant worker is currently riding in a friend's rented house in Jeddah for medical help and asking for help from his return to Indonesia.

"We will coordinate with the Indonesian Embassy and Astakira Cianjur as family assistants," he said.

Chairman of the Greater Indonesia Manpower Association (Astakira) Renewal of Cianjur Regency, Ali Hildan, said that his party received a report from the family regarding the existence of Rosikah alias Imas, a migrant worker who was abandoned because he had a tumor in someone's country.

"We, accompany the PMI family, knocked on the hearts of the Governor of West Java and the Regent of Cianjur, to help Rosikah return from Saudi Arabia, because he currently lives with his friend in a rented house in the Jeddah area after being expelled by his employer," said Ali.

Meanwhile, according to him, his condition worsened because he did not have a cost of 40 thousand Riyal for surgery, so that currently his eyes could not see because of the late medical treatment.

"We continue to strive and urge local governments to the central government to be able to help the migrant workers return because Law No. 18 of 2017 states that migrant workers get three aspects, law, social and economic," he said.
