Arrest 4 Members Of The Vehicle Embezzlement Syndicate, Central Kalimantan Police Examined 14 Cars

Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan) Regional Police arrested four members of a syndicate of fraud and car embezzlement as many as 14 units. They committed crimes between provinces.

"Now, the four syndicate members have been detained at the Regional Police Headquarters along with 14 cars resulting from their crimes carried out between provinces. They are also undergoing intensive examinations for further development," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Central Kalimantan Police, Kombes Pol Faisal F Napitupulu in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, Tuesday, February 14, confiscated by Antara.

The four suspects are Mahdiana alias Diana, Wawan Sudarmawan alias Wawan, Muhammad Rani alias Husni and Bahrudin alias Udin.

Faisal explained, the chronology of the incident began when the victim through his Facebook social media account offered over-credit for a white pick-up grand max car in 2022 with police number KH 8504 TB.

On December 8, 2022, the suspects came to the victim's house, intending to take over the car officially to the finance party at a take over price of Rp. 27 million.

"However, at that time the suspects only gave an advance of Rp. 5 million, while the rest would be paid when an official take over was carried out to the financing party," he said.

After time, the victim tried to contact the suspects by telephone, but the answer would be to promise to take over officially at the financing office.

"But after waiting a month the suspects could not be contacted and the victim received information that the car had been sold to other people," said Faisal.

The officer with the rank of three jasmine revealed that the evidence from the crime of the four suspects was a white Daihatsu grand max car, a black Suzuki Carry car in 2022, a 2022 Daihatsu Ayla car, a 2010 silver Suzuki Slash car, a 2022 white Daihatsu grand max car, and a 2012 silver Honda Jazz car.

Furthermore, a white 2017 Toyota Avanza, one white Daihatsu Terios car in 2023, one white Daihatsu Xenia car in 2023, one white Daihatsu Xenia car in 2023, one gray Daihatsu Sigra car in 2022, and one white Mitsubishi Xpander car in 2022.

"The articles applied to Mahdiana, Wawan Sudarmawan and Bahrudin are Articles 378 and 372 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of four years in prison. Meanwhile, the suspect Muhammad Rani as the custodian is subject to Article 489 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of four years in prison," he said.
