Two Car Driver Mobile Jambret Specialists Arrested During Action In Kemayoran

JAKARTA - Two specialists in snatching cellphones of car drivers have been arrested by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kemayoran Police. The two suspects are known to have the initials AD (52) and SP (53). They were arrested after carrying out a robbery on Jalan Inspeksi Kali Hitam, RT 18/02, Sumur Batu Village, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

"The two perpetrators are always targeting car drivers who open the glass. They are eyeing car drivers' cellphones," said Kemayoran police chief, Kompol Ardiansyah, Tuesday, February 14.

Kompol Ardiansyah said the two perpetrators were arrested while carrying out a mugging on Jalan Inspeksi Kali Hitam, Sumur Batu. The two perpetrators were arrested when the victim screamed for help.

"This is the perpetrator who snatched the driver's cellphone, but the victim immediately shouted. As a result of the screams the perpetrator was caught by the residents. Both of them were then handed over to the police who came to the location," he said.

These two perpetrators used to play in the Pademangan and Central Jakarta areas. They are targeting motorists who play cellphones in open glass positions. The two perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with the threat of imprisonment of more than 5 years in prison.
