The Request Of Hotman Paris, Who Wants Witnesses From The Metro Police, Was Examined First By The Judge

The judge at the trial of the drug trafficking case at the West Jakarta District Court with the defendant, the former West Sumatra Police Chief, Inspector General Teddy Minahasa, rejected Hotman Paris Hutapea's legal request to examine witnesses from the Polda Metro Jaya first.

In the trial with the agenda of examining witnesses from the Public Prosecutor (JPU) this Monday, it is scheduled to examine police witnesses from the West Sumatra Police, namely Heru Prayitno, Syafri, Rinaldo alias Amang, Syukur Hendri Saputra and Alexi Aubedilah.

Hotman reasoned that witnesses from Polda Metro Jaya had to be examined first because they were considered the source of the start of the investigation process.

"Our assembly objected. I said earlier in the BAP, the spirit of this case was originally from the Polda Metro Jaya. From there it was the one who then started tracing to Bukittinggi, so it had to start from the beginning first," said Hotman Paris in front of a trial at the West Jakarta District Court (PN), Monday, February 13, as reported by Antara.

Even though the public prosecutor has now presented police witnesses from the West Sumatra Police.

Meanwhile, the investigating witnesses from Polda Metro Jaya who have been presented are Bayu Trisno and Tri Hamdani.

Hearing the proposal, the presiding judge, Jon Sarman Saragih, discussed Hotman's request until finally rejecting it.

The presiding judge then ordered the examination of the witness to be divided into two parts. The first trial examined witnesses Heru Prayitno, Syafri, Rinaldi alias Anang, Syukur Hendri Saputra, and Alexi Aubedilah.

Meanwhile, witness Arif Hadi Prabowo, Bayu Trisno, Tri Hamdani, was asked to wait from outside the Kusuma Atmadja courtroom.

Until now, the trial is still ongoing in the main room of the West Jakarta District Court with the defendant Teddy Minahasa.

Polda Metro Jaya investigators stated that Inspector General Teddy Minahasa had ordered his subordinates to set aside evidence of methamphetamine from the results of the disclosure of the case to be circulated.

The Bukit Tinggi Police initially wanted to destroy 40 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, but Inspector General Teddy Minahasa allegedly ordered to exchange five kilograms of crystal methamphetamine for tawas.

However, the embezzlement of drug evidence was finally uncovered by a series of disclosures of narcotics cases by the Central Jakarta Metro Police and Polda Metro Jaya.

A total of 1.7 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine has been successfully circulated while the remaining 3.3 kilograms have been confiscated by officers.

The article alleged against Teddy is Article 114 Paragraph 3 sub Article 112 Paragraph 2 Jo Article 132 Paragraph 1 Jo Article 55 Law Number 35 Year 2009 with a maximum threat of the death penalty and a minimum of 20 years in prison.
