Following Up On Jokowi's Order, KSAL Holds The Navy's Leadership Meeting

JAKARTA - The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL) Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali said he was ready to continue the directives from President Jokowi, Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto, and TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono who were enshrined in a number of leadership meetings (rapim).

To that end, the KSAL led the 2023 Navy Leadership Meeting at the Yos Sudarso Auditorium, TNI AL Headquarters, Cilangkap, Jakarta, Monday, February 13.

"A few weeks ago we carried out the Ministry of Defense's Rapim, then continued with the TNI/Polri Leadership Meeting, then continued with the TNI Leadership Meeting. Now for directions from the President, the Minister of Defense, the TNI Commander, we will explain in the Navy's Leadership Meeting," Ali told the media crew on the sidelines of the event, Monday, February 13.

He said that in the Navy's Rapim, all problems related to the budget, intelligence, operations, personnel, and logistics will be discussed.

"What problems stand out in 2022, we evaluate, implement, correct, and develop in 2023," he said.

In addition to the identification and analysis of problems, the Navy's Rapim will also convey a strategic environment situation in 2023 that needs to be watched out for in an effort to strengthen intelligence interoperability with the Navy's operating title.

It was also conveyed that the priority of the plan for an operation and exercise title in 2023 is effective, exposure to the evolution of war and the threat trend ahead, as well as advances and trends in the development of Navy technology.

According to the KSAL, his party will convey policies at the time of the closing of the Navy's Rapim, all of which still refer to the directives of the President, Minister of Defense, and the TNI Commander.

"The policies taken will also be prepared to refer to what the leaders are directing, be it government leaders, in this case the President, then the Minister of Defense and the Commander in Chief. Now I will convey the KSAL policies at the closing of the Navy Meeting and also what priority programs will be implemented by the Navy," said Ali.

The Navy's Rapim was attended by 231 personnel consisting of 120 high-ranking officers (pati) and 111 middle-ranking officers (pamen) of the force, including those who took part in video connections from Koarmada RI, Kodiklatal, Pushidrosal, Koarmada I-III, Kolinlamil, Kormar, AAL, Seskoal, Puspenerbal, Lantamal, and Inkopal.

The Indonesian Navy's Rapim also presented speakers from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) researcher Edy Prasetyono and Professor of FISIP Universitas Padjadjaran Bandung Yanyan Mochamad Yani.

In a series of activities, the 2022 Best SBSN Management Work Unit of the Hankam Sector was also presented to Lantamal V Surabaya and the Predicate for Corruption-Free Areas (WBK) from the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) 2022 to Pushidrosal.
