The National Police Will Escort The Constitutional Court Judges And Families Regarding Pilkada Dispute Sessions

JAKARTA - The National Police will escort judges of the Constitutional Court (MK) and their families in connection with the trial of the 2020 Regional Head Election dispute. This security is carried out so that all processes of handling cases run smoothly without obstacles.

"Including the judge, the residence of the judge and his family is also a priority for security from the National Police," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, to reporters, Tuesday, January 5.

In security, Polri members will also be on guard at all locations related to case handling. Including the Constitutional Court building which will later become the location for the trial of the election result dispute.

"Of course later when the trial at the Constitutional Court, the Police are ready to secure not only the MK building, we will secure other objects involved with the Constitutional Court," he said.

With this safeguard, it is hoped that the trial will run smoothly and that the Constitutional Court judges will be free from intervention efforts related to the handling of election disputes.

"Of course, there is great hope once again, as in front of the National Police, to guarantee the security of the Constitutional Court, of course it is hoped that the Court can carry out its duties as well as possible," said Rusdi.

The Constitutional Court noted that it had received 135 Pilkada results. The details are 7 lawsuit resulting from the Governor Election, 114 Pilbup lawsuits, and 14 Pilwalkot lawsuits.

The 7 Pilgub lawsuit included disputes over the election results in South Kalimantan, West Sumatra and Jambi.

Meanwhile, 114 lawsuits resulting from the Pilbup include election disputes in Banyuwangi and East Kutai. Meanwhile, 14 Pilwalkot lawsuits included election disputes in Surabaya and Medan.
