BOGOR - Several large trees fell during the rain in Bogor City in West Java Province on Saturday night, February 11 and Sunday morning, February 12.

Head of the Bogor City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Theofilo Patrocinio Freitas said that the rain caused three large trees to collapse onto the road in three locations.

He said that on Saturday at 23.20 WIB the rain caused trees to fall in front of the Bogor Livestock Research and Development Center Building in Babakan Village, Central Bogor District.

In the early hours of Sunday, according to him, there was also one large tree each that fell on Jalan Budi Agung, Kedungbadak Village, Tanah Sareal District, and Batutulis Street, South Bogor District.

Theofilo said the fallen tree was on average 30 cm to 40 cm in diameter and eight to 12 meters high.

According to him, vehicle traffic in the parts of the road affected by fallen trees was disrupted.

However, he said BPBD officers immediately cleaned the fallen tree trunks and branches on the road so that the traffic on the parts of the road was no longer disturbed.

"Luckily there were no injuries or casualties," he said.

"Officers also immediately went to the location, stand by from night. We hope that there will be no more similar incidents," he added.
