SERANG - The Indonesian Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi) appreciates the Banten Police for successfully uncovering cases of repacking and mixing 350 tons of bulog rice.

The executive director of Lemkaki Dr. Edi Hasibuan expressed his appreciation for the disclosure of 350 tons of rice bulog repacking and mixed rice.

"We appreciate the response of the Banten Police who worked quickly to uncover the syndicate, and the police managed to arrest 7 perpetrators," said Edi in a written statement.

According to Edi Hasibuan, the disclosure of this syndicate certainly received a lot of appreciation from the community considering that rice is the basic needs of the community. So far, cheap rice from Bulog is difficult to find in the market.

"We see that the Banten Police are very observant in the condition of the rice market and have long suspected that there have been irregularities by rice traders," he added.

According to him, so far, those who supervise rice trading, including Bulog rice, have been carried out by the Banten Police Food Task Force.

"We understand very well, the Banten Police Chief is very good at having irregularities because he is a former Director of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police," he said.

Edi hopes that this rice syndicate can be thoroughly investigated.

"We hope that this rice syndicate will continue to be investigated to ensure whether or not Bulog officials play, in accordance with the commitment of Bulog Director Budi Waseso," he concluded.
