The National Police Chief Ensures That The Entire Government Policy Guard, Starting From The U-20 World Cup To Ahead Of The 2024 General Election

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo ensured that the police would oversee all government policies while maintaining security situations from the U-20 World Cup to the 2024 General Election.

"Mr. President has given several directions regarding what the TNI/Polri have done, in particular how to maintain and oversee investment, industrial investment, and national policies," Sigit said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 10.

The National Police Chief conveyed his commitment to overseeing all government policies to all his staff in closing the 2023 Police Leadership Meeting (Rapim).

To his staff, Sigit said that Polri personnel must be able to oversee government policies in the midst of the duties and responsibilities of the National Police in carrying out harkamtibmas and law enforcement.

In addition, the National Police are also ready to oversee the entire series of General Elections (Pemilu) 2024 so that it runs safely, peacefully, and smoothly.

"We are also preparing steps from security preparations," said the National Police Chief.

These steps, he continued, include reducing the occurrence of polarization or matters that lead to identity politics with the cooling system in collaboration with community leaders, religious leaders, regional leaders, and all elements of society.

In overseeing the 2024 General Election, Sigit emphasized the issue of maintaining the unity and integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

"We always remind that we must maintain unity and integrity, although of course there are differences of choice and differences of opinion. However, do not sacrifice what is called unity and integrity. This is something we must continue to remind," said Sigit.

The four-star general said that in 2023 there will be many national and international agendas in Indonesia such as Formula 1 (F1) Powerboat at Lake Toba Medan from 25 to 26 February 2023.

In addition, the U-20 World Cup. In this regard, the National Police have invited teachers from England in the context of managing football competitions. The TNI/Polri are ready to oversee all these activities.

"We must also secure it because this has an impact on our nation and also multiplier effect for the surrounding community," he said.

In the 2023 National Police Rapim, the National Police Chief also discussed the issue of anticipating all areas prone to conflict and improving the quality of Polri's services to the community.
