2 People In Balikpapan Arrested For One Kg Of Marijuana As Well As The Tree

BALIKPAPAN - Officers from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) together with the Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office for Middle Customs Type B Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, arrested two people for possessing 1 kg of marijuana leaves.

AWR (37 years) and MH (44) not only have dry marijuana leaves ready for sale, but also 2 cannabis (Cannabis sativa) stems.

“According to the two, this tree is 4 months old and is intended for experiments. To see whether it can grow well or not here," said the Head of the Balikpapan National Narcotics Agency Risnoto reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 9.

To the officers, AWR admitted that the cannabis leaves ready to be sold were in the form of shipments from Medan, North Sumatra. Marijuana that has been packed into small pieces is wrapped in folds of clothing, and then sent as a package to Balikpapan. The goods arrived in Balikpapan on February 5.

"We found that the weight of the marijuana sent was 1,022 grams," continued Risnoto.

From the investigation, it is known that AWR is the owner of the marijuana. AWR said it was jointly owned by MH, a resident of Cendrawasih Street, Klandasan Ulu.

"We secure the perpetrator at home. Was hiding on the ceiling. It was at MH's house that we secured two cannabis trees and 9 small plastic packages ready for distribution," said Risnoto.

 

Head of Enforcement and Investigation of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) for East Kalimantan, Junanto Kurniawan, explained that the disclosure of cannabis cases of more than 1 kg was due to cooperation and synergy with BNNK, Polri, and TNI.

”Collaboration is not only on paper. We cooperate intensively with the BNNK, TNI, and Polri," explained Junanto.
