The Batang Regency Government, Central Java, assessed that the distribution of specialist doctors in the local area was still minimal but had not yet disrupted health services to the community.

"The distribution of specialist doctors is still minimal but there are no problems. We are still taking advantage of the presence of specialist doctors who work in a number of hospitals such as Batang Hospital, QIM Hospital, and Limpung Hospital," said Batang Lani Regent Dwi Rejeki as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 9.

He assessed that the issue of the distribution of specialist doctors still depends on the needs of the community who will need health services.

"Of the approximately 800 thousand residents who need health services, it is possible that it will increase. Indeed, in terms of the number of specialist doctors who are still limited, but residents who need health services can still be served well," he said.

Regarding the issuance of health laws, Lani Dwi Rejeki said that the district government is ready to support the issuance of health laws by the central government.

"What is clear is that the health law was made by the Government for the benefit of the community so that those of us in the subordinate government will support it," he said.

Head of the Batang District Health Office, Didiet Wisnuhardanto, assessed that the distribution of specialist doctors had not yet caused problems because residents who would need health services could still be served.

"Actually, the problem of the distribution of specialist doctors is in the big city area. However, in Batang Regency there is no problem because residents who will need health services can still be served properly," he said.
