Johnny G Plate Called AGO, Jokowi: We Respect The Legal Process

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) did not talk much about summoning the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate by the Attorney General's Office (AGO). He said all parties must respect the legal process.

"Yes, we all have to respect the legal process," Jokowi told reporters in Medan, North Sumatra, Thursday, February 9.

"Everyone must respect the legal process. That's all," he continued.

Johnny G Plate is scheduled to give testimony as a witness today at 10.00 WIB. It's just that, because of the busyness of the examination process, it is scheduled to return on February 14.

In investigating the alleged corruption case of 4G BTS and supporting infrastructure packages 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (Bakti) Kominfo 2020-2022, the AGO has named five suspects.

Mereka, Anang Achmad Latif (AAL) selaku Direktur Utama BAKTI Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika, dan Gahole Menak (GMS) selaku Direktur Utama PT Mora Telematika Indonesia.

Then, Yohan Suryanto (YS) as an expert on Human Development (HUDEV) at the University of Indonesia in 2020, Mukti Ali as a suspect from PT Huwaei Technology Investment, and Irwan Hermawan as Commissioner of PT Solitech Media Sinergy.

In this case, the state losses caused reached Rp1 trillion. However, it is possible to increase.

In this case, the suspects were charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
