A Lot Of Sexual Harassment On Trains, KAI Must Increase CCTV Security

JAKARTA - PT KAI appealed to train passengers not to record crime and disseminate it on social media. This appeal follows the many viral videos of acts of sexual harassment that occurred on the train.

A public policy observer from Trisakti University, Trubus Rahadiansyah assessed that this call was to protect the name of PT KAI.

"To protect KAI's good name too, KAI's image must be good, for public transportation which is trusted to protect public transportation," said Trubus when talking with VOI, Thursday, February 8

"So it's best if the victims report it themselves, report it directly to KAI. This will be followed up with law enforcement cooperation. Later KAI will process all of it," said Trubus.

He also argues, if passengers are prohibited from recording acts of sexual harassment, it indicates that harassment has occurred.

Therefore, said Trubus, PT KAI must improve the security of face detection CCTV again. Apart from that, socialization should also be increased to the public about this security issue.

"Yes (tools must be adequate-ed) the point is that security and comfort are needed. On the one hand, how is the system at KAI itself," he concluded.
