The East Lombok District Attorney's Office (Kejari) is investigating allegations of misappropriation of the revolving funds for the Mandiri Rural Community Empowerment National Program (PNPM) for the management period for the 2017-2020 fiscal year.

Head of the Special Crimes Section (Pidsus) of the East Lombok Kejari, Isa Ansyori, emphasized that the handling of the case has now entered the investigation stage based on indications of unlawful acts (PMH).

"So, the handling of this case has entered the stage of investigation by pidsus with the basis of evidence of PMH that we have held. The potential loss is at least Rp. 1 billion," said Isa when met in Mataram, NTB, Wednesday, February 8, as reported by Antara.

The PMH indication, he explained, relates to the revolving deposit of funds from customers suspected of not being included in the activity management unit (UPK) of PNPM Mandiri Persahan at the sub-district level.

"This indication has harmed the state. Customer deposit money does not go to the UPK," he said.

Therefore, Isa ensured that in this series of investigations his party still had to carry out a series of clarifications in stages, starting from the customer level, village level assistants, to the UPK PNPM Mandiri Rural at the sub-district level.

For the number of customers from 2017 to 2020, he explained, there were at least 200 people who were members of dozens of community groups. Requests for clarification are carried out randomly.

"Even if there are other parties involved, we will definitely clarify as well," he said.

PNPM Mandiri Perdesahan in East Lombok Regency is spread across 9 sub-districts, namely Montong Gading, Sukamulia, Suralaga, Pringgabaya, Suela, Sambalia, Keruak, Jerowaru, and West Sakra.

The aid funds are rolled out in billions of rupiah per year to finance the social infrastructure, economy, health, education, and business capital of the village community.

The implementation of the Rural Mandiri PNPM is also under the guidance of the Directorate General of Community and Village Empowerment (PMD) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

On a national scale, this program runs with financial support from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN), Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD), loan funds or foreign grants of a number of aid providers under the coordination of the World Bank.
