Millennials Are Aggressively Looking For Property In 2019

JAKARTA - Millennials are aggressively looking for properties, be it houses or apartments in 2019. Rumah123.com Country Manager Maria Herawati Manik revealed that in general demographics, consumers who search the Rumah123.com site are still dominated by the age of 25-35 years.

"So his age is in the range of millennials," said Maria in Jakarta, Thursday, February 6.

In addition, Maria also added that in total searches that occurred on Rumah123.com during 2019 had increased by 27 percent.

"If we look at the distribution for the house itself, it has increased by 34 percent, the apartment has slightly decreased by about 10 percent, and so has land by 2 percent," he said.

He said that 22.8 percent of housing enthusiasts based on the price range during 2019 were still dominated by searches for houses in the range of Rp. million-Rp1 billion as much as 20.8 percent.

Meanwhile, apartment enthusiasts based on the price range during 2019 are still dominated by apartment searches with prices below Rp. 300 million, 44.3 percent, then apartments in the price range of Rp. 500 million-Rp1 billion by 18.2 percent, then apartments in the price range of Rp. 300 million-500 million. by 15.5 percent.

Thus, Rumah123.com sees that consumer sentiment has a need for apartment prices below Rp1 billion.

"Our prediction is that it is possible for apartments for early investment, where they may invest more in apartments that may be less risky and of course still affordable." said Maria.

According to the PUPR Ministry, currently it is estimated that there are 81 million millennial generation who do not have homes and become a potential housing market.

The millennial generation is a generation born in the 1980s to the early 2000s. Currently the number is around 30 percent of the total population of Indonesia and is estimated to continue to grow.

Based on the research results of the Directorate General of Housing Provision, the millennial generation prioritizes quality livable houses in the form of apartments or rental housing. Especially in the city center which is integrated with public transportation nodes and has easy internet access.
