President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Military Commander Tsani explained that the humanitarian flight was operated by Garuda Indonesia using a fleet of narrow-body Boeing 737-800NG aircraft.
The humanitarian flight is officially operated through flight number GA 8560 which departs from Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport Jakarta at 09.00 WIB and is planned to arrive at Naypyidaw International Airport as the point of mission implementation at 12.50 LT.
"The plane then returned to Jakarta the next day with flight number GA 8590 via Yangon International Airport," he said.
Military Commander Tsani revealed that the operation of humanitarian flights is a form of Garuda Indonesia's commitment as a national flag carrier in supporting the role of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia as the front line in showing real action and solidarity with neighboring countries affected by natural disasters.
"Thank you for the government's trust in Garuda Indonesia in supporting various humanitarian missions, as well as expressing the highest appreciation to all parties who participated in the success of this collaboration so that the operation of humanitarian flights to Myanmar can be realized optimally," said the Deputy Military Commander.
He said, the operation of this humanitarian flight certainly has its own meaning for Garuda Indonesia in affirming its support for various programs of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, especially in strategic missions to voice solidarity and concern between countries in global forums.
Furthermore, Foreign Minister Sugiono said that the delivery of this aid was a form of solidarity between Indonesians and Myanmar citizens.
"We hope that the assistance sent, including medicines, sanitation tools, and basic necessities, can alleviate the suffering of the people of Myanmar affected by the earthquake," he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Suharyanto, explained that BNPB had dispatched a special team that joined the TNI, Basarnas, Baznas, and various related ministries to support the evacuation process of victims in the disaster.
"We are moving at the request of the Myanmar Government which has sent requests for assistance through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Through the support of the availability of personnel, medical equipment, and logistics, Indonesia as a nation that upholds humanity can emphasize its contribution to helping the people of Myanmar affected by the disaster," explained Suharyanto.
