MATARAM - Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Zulkieflimansyah said that the presence of social assistance (bansos) launched by President Jokowi is a form of state presence that is truly felt by the community, both the poor and those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Thanks to friends who distributed the aid, I hope that our beloved NTB will be given a blessing by Allah SWT," he said after handing over the aid to the community in Mataram, quoted by Antara, Monday, January 4.

In the distribution of social assistance, as many as 24 representatives of the NTB community who received assistance symbolically by eight representatives each received cash assistance, basic food assistance and layoff assistance which were handed over directly by the NTB Governor at the NTB Provincial Social Service Office.

Previously, President Jokowi launched cash assistance in 34 provinces throughout Indonesia. In this assistance, there are three types of aid packages, including basic food assistance, cash social assistance and the Family Hope Program (PKH), which are handed over to representatives of the beneficiary communities in each province.

President Jokowi explained that the central government, through the 2021 State Budget, has provided a budget of Rp110 trillion to help people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic which is channeled through social assistance.

"We hope that this assistance can alleviate the families of the people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. It is also expected to be a trigger to drive the national economy and strengthen people's purchasing power," hoped the President after launching virtual cash assistance at the State Palace in Jakarta.

Therefore, Jokowi asked the relevant ministries and all governors throughout Indonesia to complete the aid distribution process and hoped that the beneficiaries would use the aid appropriately. Prioritize assistance to meet basic needs and family food.

"I also emphasize that this assistance is not fragmentary. The public must accept it completely, because this assistance is sent directly to the community through state-owned banks and post offices," he said.
