Polling Stations In Surakarta Re-ignored, The Number Of Postponed Elections In 2024 Is Possible To Replace

The Surakarta City KPU stated that the restructuring or mapping of polling stations (TPS) would result in a change in the number of voter data updating officers (panderlih) for the 2024 General Election.

"With the issuance of the Indonesian KPU's decision Number.67/2023. As of February 4, it is licensed by the stages of the formation of Pantarlih," said Surakarta City General Election Commission Chairman Nurul Sutarti in Surakarta, Central Java (Central Java), Tuesday, February 7, as reported by Antara.

According to him, initially he was ready to be sworn in on February 6, 2023, but was postponed to February 12, 2023, and on the same day a matching and research (collite) of voter data was carried out.

"The stages of bankruptcy have not changed, but the formation of pandarilih has changed its time," he said.

He said the number of candidates who had been announced to have passed the current administration was 1,785 people, and the determination of the panderalih officers was still carried out on February 11, 2023.

"Because the TPS restructuring process is being carried out, on February 11, it will be known how many polling stations are, so the number of students will change according to the number of polling stations as a result of mapping," he said.

In the 2019 election in Surakarta, the number of polling stations was 1,732 polling stations compared to the 2024 election, only an increase of 53 polling stations. This increase is less than the presentation of the increase in the population in Surakarta. Each polling station in Surakarta, on average, has 248 voters or is very efficient and effective.

"The voting organizers (KPPS) are not too burdened with the number of voters of up to 300 people at each polling station. On the one hand, it still provides an opportunity if there are voters who are on the special list," he said.

He said that according to the KPU RI's instructions through Decree No. 67 of 2023, the KPU is obliged to follow up and ask for understanding from the public, especially the candidates who have passed the administration, but if there is a restructuring of the TPS, then of course there will be a change in the number of students.

The Surakarta City KPU stated that the number of potential population data for Election voters (DP4) for the preparation of the 2024 General Election reached 442,727 voters, an increase of around 20,728 voters compared to the 2019 Election as many as 421,999 voters.

The number of voters in the 2024 General Election consisted of male gender 215,151 voters and women 227,576 voters, spread across five sub-districts.
