JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Highways Agency has budgeted Rp. 15 billion for the construction of the Kebayoran Lama Crossing Bridge (JPO) to accommodate the mobility of the public, not public transport passengers.

"It is targeted for November this year and this is still a planning process," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Highways Agency Hari Nugroho at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Tuesday, February 7, as reported by Antara.

He said the JPO development plan had been designed since the construction of the Kebayoran Lama Skywalk.

The construction of the Kebayoran Lama Skywalk will be carried out from March until completion of construction in November 2022.

Therefore, the plan to build the JPO is not because complaints from users of public transportation services related to being charged when using a skywalk.

"Actually, in the past, we wanted to integrate the skywalk with the JPO, but because the design was a bit difficult, we finally broke out, the important thing was the skywalk first," he said.

The plan is for the JPO to have a length of about 30 meters allocated from the 2023 APBD. The JPO was built near the Kebayoran Lama Market Bus Stop which connects Corridor Eight and is about 180 meters away and is near a dense residential area.

Hari also ensured that there was no land acquisition to build the JPO. "Now there is no land acquisition. I have mapped it for the bottom and ramp construction, it is free there," he said.

He also ensured that the existence of the JPO did not overlap with the Kebayoran Lama Skywalk because the bridge was used for the general public to cross.

Later, it will be safer for people to cross, including to the Kebayoran Lama train station because the traffic below is congested and the contours are convex.
