Hevearita Gunaryanti Asks For Village Head In Semarang To Understand The Rules, Not Let Street Vendors Take Land

Semarang - Mayor of Semarang, Central Java, Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu asked the village head as a regional stakeholder not to allow street vendors (PKL) to proliferate uncontrollably in their area. "Don't let a little empty space be allowed. If it's not allowed, then it can't be (selling) there," said Ita, Hevearita's nickname in Semarang, Central Java, Antara, Monday, February 6. According to him, the lurah should understand the rules, namely regional regulations that regulate the points that are allowed as selling locations and points that are prohibited from selling. "If they (PKL) are stubborn, there is a Satpol PP. This is not allowed to be prohibited, but already the rules, which is the room for pedestrians, green open spaces, where are street vendors," he said. On the other hand, said Ita, the proliferation of street vendors in several residential areas has not contributed greatly to the local revenue (PAD) from the retribution sector because there is no management. Ita gave an example of the proliferation of street vendors in the Tlogosari Housing area lined up along housing entrances to roads and often causing traffic jams. According to him, the existence of the street vendors cannot actually be separated from the role of the village head as a regional stakeholder who should know, but seems to let them proliferate. In fact, he challenged the lurah if he dared to be responsible for inaugurating the PKL series, rather than allowing street smoothing and not contributing to regional income. "That's a merchant's retribution. Actually, traders enter the realm at the Trade Office. Well, if it is asked to be inaugurated, yes, he (the kelurahan) must have the courage to inaugurate," he said. Therefore, Ita promised to immediately gather the village head to be given an understanding of the areas below him, including those that have been designated as points of street vendors. "Don't put it in the retribution point, but leave it like that. Therefore, we will also call the lurahs for understanding," he said.
