KY EMPHASIZED That There Is No Prohibition Of Active Police From Participating In The Selection Of Candidates For Ad Hoc Judges

JAKARTA - The Judicial Commission (KY) affirms that the law does not prohibit active members of the National Police from participating in the selection of candidates for ad hoc judges of the Human Rights Court (HAM) at the Supreme Court (MA). "In the law it does not prohibit," said Chief Justice of the Judicial Commission of the Republic of Indonesia, Siti Nurdjanah, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 6. One of the candidates for ad hoc judges who followed the selection process and passed the interview stage was Harnoto, who is now serving as the Hadik Madya 19 School of State Police (SPN) of the East Java Police.Nurdjanah explained that Harnoto will also be retired in March 2023. That is, if elected as a candidate for ad hoc judge of the Supreme Court of Human Rights, Hartono will hold the status as a civilian when appointed. "Sature March 2023 (Harnoto) has retired, so it is not until a month away," he added. On that occasion, Nurdjanah also said that the assessment of candidates for judges ad hoc of the Human Rights Court was carried out cumulatively, which included interview tests, track records, and a number of previous tests. After being accumulated, the selection committee team will consider the results of such selection tests. For example, if the results of the interview are good, however, the track records of problematic judges will certainly be dropped. In contrast, if the interview value is not good, while the track records of the judge candidates are good or there is no bad record, the committee will consider passing. In other words, the judge candidate still has the opportunity to learn related material asked by the panelis. The selection committee of candidates for ad hoc judges at the Human Rights Court announced three names of participants who successfully passed the interview stage. After that stage, it was continued with a feasibility test and a fit test in Commission III of the DPR RI. The three prospective judges were Harnoto, Heppy Watongkere's lawyer, and a former judge of ad hoc Corruption Crimes at the Banda Aceh District Court M. Fatan Riyadhi.
