TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono asked soldiers to understand the laws and human rights (HAM) while carrying out their duties to maintain the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). While giving a briefing on the transfer of command and control of the TNI's Rapid Response Troops (PPRC) in Malang Regency, East Java, Yudo said that one of the mandates emphasized was that soldiers must understand the law so that there are no human rights violations in the future. "When there are (events) that must be faced by the TNI Rapid Response Troops, the soldiers must be provided with legal control so that they are measurable and do not violate human rights," Yudo said as quoted by Antara, Monday, February 6. With the rule of law and understanding of human rights, he hopes that TNI soldiers can work optimally in carrying out their duties. If they do not have a good understanding of human rights, then TNI soldiers will be hampered while carrying out their duties. When TNI soldiers understand the law and human rights, according to Yudo, it can be a benchmark while on duty in the field. Therefore, he asked all existing ranks to provide human rights-related briefing to soldiers. "Don't let the soldiers in their duties be afraid of it (HAM). Therefore, understanding must be given. The commanders, conveyed to all ranks to equip them with human rights, so that they do not violate," he said. On that occasion, Yudo also emphasized a number of other instructions to the soldiers of the TNI's PPRC who could be used as guidelines for all ranks in facing and carrying out future tasks. Soldiers are asked to maintain and improve the operational readiness and professional ability of soldiers through planned and programmed exercises. The TNI's PPRC must also be monitored and controlled properly so that it is ready to be moved throughout Indonesia quickly and appropriately. Then, Yudo continued, the TNI PPRC must maintain the main equipment and equipment of the weapon system (alutsista) properly with a full sense of responsibility in order to support the smooth running of tasks. TNI soldiers are also asked to closely follow and monitor the development of the dynamic situation in the country, in order to determine the possibility of the involvement of the TNI's PPRC in the future.
