JAKARTA - Member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD PDIP faction, Gilbert Simanjuntak, questioned the status of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) as an international-class stadium with FIFA standards.

This is because complaints arose from visitors to the Dewa 19 concert on Saturday, February 4, at the stadium inherited from the former Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan.

The concertgoers complained about the difficulty of access to and from JIS due to traffic jams and the unavailability of parking points.

"Since the beginning of JIS's establishment, we have asked, what is international? But Anies was still adamant with that name," said Gilbert in a short message, Monday, February 6.

This is not the first time this has happened to JIS activities. Gilbert discussed the breakdown of the grandstand guardrail during the JIS grand launching event which was held by the DKI Provincial Government on July 24, 2022.

Because of this, Gilbert reminded PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) as the stadium manager to improve the quality of the infrastructure as a whole.

"If you want to have a big event there, especially with the stadium's capacity, supporting infrastructure must be built together, especially access to the location because parking facilities are also not enough," he said.

The Dewa 19 30 Years People's Party concert at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) on Saturday, February 4 was an event that the audience will never forget. Behind the magnificent appearance of Dewa 19 which was held at this international-class stadium, it turned out that there were many complaints.

Complaints from concertgoers for the 30th anniversary of Dewa 19 were widely expressed on social media. Netizens' most complaints are about poor access to the mobility of visitors in and out of the stadium.

When the concert took place, a number of spectators who had tickets in the stands area did not get seats to sit down. Spectators also complained about the quality of the sound system which was not optimal up to the upper stands area.

When the concert finished on Sunday, February 5 at around 00.00 WIB, the audience started leaving the stadium. Considering that there are no parking pockets provided in the JIS area, there are other parking accesses in the Ancol area and JIExpo Kemayoran. To support access to these two parking locations, a shuttle bus is also available from JIS to external parking locations.

The problem is, the narrowness of the road in front of JIS, Sunter Permai Raya Street, and its surroundings make traffic jams inevitable. The flow of vehicle traffic parked around the JIS area was restrained from leaving the area, including the shuttle bus that took spectators to the parking location.

Spectators who tried to order motorcycle taxis online, instead of waiting for the next shuttle bus to arrive, were unsuccessful many times. Many of the spectators also decided to walk several kilometers from JIS and the external parking location.
