NTB Residents Asked For Disaster Alert, BMKG Predictions For Rainy Rain Accompanied By Winds Will Continue Until Next Monday

JAKARTA - Residents of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) are asked to be more vigilant considering the extreme weather by hitting the area. The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said there was a potential disaster.

The BMKG conveyed an early warning regarding the potential for moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province from Saturday, February 4 to Monday, February 6.

BMKG forecaster at the Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Lombok Meteorological Station, Nur Siti Zulaicha, said that moderate to heavy rain on Saturday has the opportunity to fall in Mataram City, Bima Regency and City, as well as North Lombok Regency, West Lombok, Central Lombok, East Lombok, Sumbawa, West Sumbawa, and Dompu.

On Sunday, February 5, rain is predicted to fall in Mataram City, Bima Regency and City, as well as North Lombok Regency, West Lombok, Central Lombok, East Lombok, Sumbawa, West Sumbawa, and Dompu.

Meanwhile, the areas of Mataram City, District and City of Bima, as well as the districts of North Lombok, West Lombok, Central Lombok, East Lombok, Sumbawa, West Sumbawa, and Dompu are also predicted to face rain on Monday, February 6.

Meteorological Station Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Lombok also said that the Tambora sub-district in Bima Regency must be prepared to face the impact of high rainfall.

Meanwhile, the Pekat sub-district in Dompu Regency; Kopang sub-district in Central Lombok, Aikmel, Sembalun, and Wanasaba sub-districts in East Lombok; Bayan and Kayangan sub-districts in North Lombok; and Labuhan Badas sub-district in Sumbawa status is alert to high rainfall.

Nur said that residents must be aware of the possibility of floods and landslides when heavy rains fall. "People are expected to continue to be vigilant," he said.
