The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has uncovered cases of prostitution from international networks accessible in Indonesia, Cambodia and the Philippines.

From the disclosure, investigators arrested six perpetrators. Three of them act as online broadcasters of immoral content or prostitution.

Director of General Crimes (Dirtipidum) Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Pol. Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro in a press conference at Bareskrim Polri said the disclosure of this case began with an immoral case involving minors that occurred in Brebes, Central Java.

"From this development, we arrested six perpetrators," said Djuhandhani, adding that the perpetrators were arrested in three different areas, namely Riau Islands (Kepri), Jakarta, and West Java.

The six perpetrators, namely IPS (20) acted as live streaming guides (host live streaming), AAT (25) played a role in finding a custodian account, RYSS (30) acted as a money launderer and diverted, transferred funds.

"The perpetrator's mode is that the site and application provides broadcast features containing immorality and online gambling (online) games," said Djuhandhani.

According to him, the circulation of money in the online immoral business run by the network since mid-2022 until now reaches tens of billions of rupiah, streamers earn IDR 1.5 million to appear for three to four hours a day.

The suspects are charged with Article 281 of the Criminal Code concerning decency with the threat of eight prisons, Article 303 of the Criminal Code on gambling with a threat of 10 years, Article 36 in conjunction with Article 10 of Law Number 4 of 2008 concerning Pornography with a threat of 10 years in prison.

Investigators also charged the suspect with Article 33, Article 7 and Article 4 paragraph (2) letters a letter b and letter c of Law Number 44 of 2008 concerning pornography with a maximum threat of 15 years. Then Article 45 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 22 paragraph 1 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions with a threat of six years in prison.

Next, Article 3, Article 4 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering (TPPU) with a threat of 20 years in prison, Article 5 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering with a threat of five years, and Article 55-56 of the Criminal Code.

"Because it is so easy to access pornography with only Rp. 3,000, people can get addicted. This will have a bad impact, those who are addicted to pornography, when they see women think women are cheap," said Malvino.

The application used by the perpetrators has been blocked, besides that investigators have also blocked four similar applications. Servers of this application are installed by the perpetrators abroad.
