The DKI DPRD Building Is Closed Again Due To Positive Covid-19 Security

JAKARTA - The DKI Regional Representative Council (DPRD) building will be closed again (lockdown) for three days until Wednesday, January 6. The closing of the building was caused by the Secretary of the DPRD Council, Hadameon, to be infected with COVID-19.

"The DPRD building will be locked down three days from today because Sekwan (the Secretary of the Council) has COVID-19," said DPRD Deputy Speaker Mohamad Taufik when confirmed, Monday, January 4.

During the closure for three days, the Jakarta parliament building located on Jalan Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta will be sterilized using disinfectant liquid.

Taufik admitted that he did not know whether Hadameon was infected while working at the DPRD building or not. However, the lockdown decision was taken to ensure that no coronavirus was left in the building.

Taufik said there was no problem if his office was locked down for three days. Currently, Taufik said DPRD members do not have a meeting agenda after the recess period. "Incidentally this first week there is no meeting," he said.

In addition, all DPRD staff who had interaction and had close contact with Hadameon were asked to take a PCR swab test to detect transmission of the corona virus.

"The chairman of the DPRD (Prasetio Edi Marsudi) instructed all employees and staff who interact closely to have a health check," said Deputy Chairman of DKI DPRD Suhaimi.

For information, the closure of the DPRD building due to the COVID-19 case has been carried out three times. Previously, the DPRD Building was locked down from July 14 to July 16 2020 due to a staff member who tested positive for COVID-19.

Then, the DPRD Building was again locked down for five days, starting from Wednesday, July 29 to Sunday, August 2. This is due to the presence of a member of the DPRD, DPRD secretariat staff, and other individual service providers (PJLP) who are infected with COVID-19.
