Aceh Cegat Police Motor Ship At Matang Rayeuk Beach, Met Dozens Of Chinese Tea Wraps Containing 42 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine

The Aceh Police's Drug Investigation Directorate team thwarted the smuggling of drugs of the Indonesian-Malaysia international network of methamphetamine-type methamphetamine weighing 42 kilograms.

Aceh Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Haydar, said the two network perpetrators were included in the wanted list or DPO for escaping when they were about to be arrested.

"The methamphetamine was smuggled through Matang Rayeuk Beach, Peudawa District, East Aceh Regency on January 26, 2023. Two perpetrators fled and are now in the DPO," said Ahmad Haydar.

Accompanied by the Director of Drug Investigation at the Aceh Police, Kombes Alpen and the Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Kombes Joko Krisdiyanto, Ahmad Haydar said the identities of the two perpetrators were known and the team continued to pursue both of them.

The police chief said the disclosure of the smuggling of tens of kilograms of crystal methamphetamine originated from information from the public who said that a motorboat was carrying drugs from the sea.

Furthermore, the Aceh Police's Drug Investigation Directorate team investigated the information. From the results of the investigation, the team found a suspicious motorboat on Matang Rayeuk Beach.

"The team searched the motorboat and found two large boxes containing dozens of packages of Chinese tea. After inspection, the tea contained methamphetamine. The total weight of the package reached 42 kilograms," said Ahmad Haydar.

Furthermore, the evidence of tens of kilograms of prohibited goods was brought to the Aceh Police Headquarters. The Aceh Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate continues to investigate the network that smuggled the methamphetamine.

"Initial suspicion, the methamphetamine was smuggled by the international Indonesian-Malaysia network. We are trying to reveal who was involved in the network, including pursuing the two perpetrators who fled," said Ahmad Haydar.

In addition to thwarting 42 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, the Aceh Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate team also destroyed 16.2 tons of marijuana plants and revealed the packaging of dried marijuana.

In the disclosure, the police arrested a perpetrator with the initials Y. The perpetrator was arrested in the Sawang area, North Aceh Regency, along with 25 kilograms of dried marijuana.

Apart from Sawang, the Aceh Police's Narcotics Research Directorate team also revealed the packaging of dried marijuana in Agusten, Gayo Lues Regency. However, in Agusten, the team did not find the culprit.

From the disclosure at the two dried marijuana packing sites, the team found marijuana fields, each in Sawang with an area of two hectares and in Agusten covering an area of three hectares.

"In addition to the two crime scenes, the team also revealed five hectares of marijuana fields in Lamteuba, Aceh Besar District. So, the total marijuana planting found in the three locations reached 16.2 tons," said the Kapolda.

With the disclosure of the methamphetamine and marijuana, said the two-star police general, the police rescued 617 thousand young people. With details of the marijuana that was saved as many as 407,000 people and 210 thousand people in shabu.

"We invite the public to jointly eradicate drug trafficking and abuse. This disclosure is a commitment of the Aceh Police to fight drug trafficking," he said.
