Vaccination For COVID-19 In Indonesia Will Take 15 Months To March 2022

BANDUNG - Spokesperson for COVID-19 Vaccination from the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said that vaccination for COVID-19 in Indonesia takes about 15 months, starting from January 2021 to March 2022.

"In total we need 15 months which will be calculated from January 2021 to March 2022. This is the 15 months of vaccination that we will do gradually," said Siti Nadia Tarmizi, quoted by Antara, Sunday, January 3.

He said the 15-month vaccination was aimed at completing the COVID-19 Vaccination Program which will be carried out in 34 provinces and reach a total population of 81.5 million people.

According to Siti Nadia, the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination for 15 months will take place for two periods, namely the first period from January to April 2021 and will prioritize 1.3 million health workers and 17.4 million public officials in 34 provinces.

Then the second period, which runs from April 2021 to March 2022, will reach the number of people from the rest of the first period.

"We also want to clarify some reports that it will take 3.5 years to complete the vaccine in Indonesia. We say that what the Minister said with 3.5 years is a projection of completion of vaccinations worldwide. Meanwhile in Indonesia we complete the COVID-vaccination. 19 in a period of 15 months, "said Siti Nadia.

In addition, his party also asked all people to continue implementing the 3M health protocol before and during the COVID-19 vaccination.

"Because we have a long way to go to get out of this COVID-19 pandemic. Joint vaccines and the application of 3M discipline and strengthening of 3 T are a complete effort to suppress COVID-19 effectively," he said.
