It's Been 3 Days Searched, Damsir Bagindo Basa Hasn't Been Found In Lereng Gunung Marapi

JAKARTA - The Agam BPBD Joint Team, West Sumatra continues to search for an elderly, Damsir Bagindo Basa (80) who disappeared around the slopes of Mount Marapi some time ago. "BPBD together with the team conducted a search down the slopes of Mount Marapi," said Head of BPBD Agam Bambang Warsito in Bukittinggi, Wednesday, February 1, as reported by Antara. He said the missing person was a resident of Joronggangangangan Koto Tuo Nagari Canduang Koto Laweh, Candung District which disappeared on Sunday (29/1).

Previously, the Agam BPBD had also searched for people in early 2023, of the three people who were missing, two of them were found. According to him, the search process began today by involving several elements to facilitate tracing the victim's position. "For the search process divided by four Search Rescue Units (SRU) who combed to various locations from the Command Post at KSB Canduang," he said, "he said that SRU 1 consisted of 14 people conducting sweeps towards Bukittinggi City, SRU 2 as many as 10 people combed from the Command Post to Labuang Lakuak Bunta, SRU 3 as many as 10 people combed the White Ramuh direction, and SRU 4 as many as 20 people to Balai Gurah.

The elements involved in the current search include the Disaster Alert Group (KSB), BPBD, TNI, Subdistrict and Nagari Government as well as volunteers from the community. One of the residents around Gindo (41) said the victim left the house on Sunday (29/1) morning with the last position visible around Lakuak Bunta or farmland on the slopes of Mount Marapi. "We have been trying to search since the beginning with his family, but it has not been successful," he said.
