There Is A Limitation Of Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates For The Gerindra And PKB Coalitions, Dasco: Determination There Are In Prabowo And Cak Imin, Not Jazilul

JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, confirmed the statement by the Deputy Chairperson of the PKB, Jazilul Fawaid, regarding the time limit for determining the presidential and vice presidential candidates from the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KIR). However, according to Dasco, Jazilul's statement is nothing special. Because the Gerindra Coalition and PKB do plan to determine a presidential and vice presidential candidate pair before Ramadan or in March 2023.

"Yes, of course, there had to be a limitation at that time. Because there was also a presidential election, there was also a limitation, regarding the registration of preparations and others. So what Pak Jazilul said was not extraordinary," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 1st.

"But there really has to be a limitation because yes, the election stage also has a limitation," he continued.

However, the Deputy Speaker of the DPR emphasized that only the two General Chairmen were Prabowo Subianto and Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin. So, he said, it is not certain that both of them will determine their names in March.

"Yes, I have already said that it was not Pak Jazilul or me who determined it, but Pak Prabowo and Pak Muhaimin according to the written one. So I think later these two people will definitely talk about what the aspirations of the PKB constituents or the PKB kiai are, right," said Dasco. Previously, PKB Deputy General Jazilul Fawaid said his party together with the Gerindra Party had a limitation to determine the presidential and vice presidential candidates, namely in March. Jazuli said, PKB and Gerindra already had a written agreement regarding this matter. In addition, said Jazuli, both of them also communicated about the stages of determining the presidential candidate to the limit of time.

"Our position is that the PKB-Gerindra has a written agreement. There are stages discussed. In fact, we have a March time limitation to determine the President and Vice President," said Jazilul in his statement, Tuesday, January 31.

According to the PKB-Gerindra political agreement, he added, the determination of the vice presidential candidate is in the hands of the respective General Chairs, namely Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin and Prabowo Subianto.

"The mandate for the president and vice president depends on Pak Prabowo and Gus Muhaimin, both of whom are General Chairmen," he said.
