JAKARTA - The Indonesian government has started to carry out preparations for the COVID-19 vaccination. The government recorded the first stage recipients after the millions of COVID-19 vaccines from Sinovac arrived in Indonesia recently. What should the people receiving the vaccine SMS do?

Vaccination spokesperson for the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Siti Nadia Tarmizi said, "There are several preparations we are doing, one of which is target data. We will start with educational SMS on 31 (December 2020)."

Previously, the Ministry of Health had sent SMS blasts to recipients of the first phase vaccine, especially to health workers. According to Nadia, who is also the Director of Prevention and Control of Vector Infectious and Zoonotic Diseases at the Ministry of Health, this method was used to verify target data.

Based on Nadia's statement to Antara, Saturday, January 2, the way it works is that health workers who receive the SMS blast will fill out a form with a population identification number (NIK), which will reveal whether they are included in the vaccination target or not.

If the health worker is not registered, the Ministry of Health will inform the district / city health office, hospital, Puskesmas or clinic, then the data will be submitted to the health information system.

All of these processes are carried out while waiting for the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) to issue a permit for the use of the COVID-19 vaccine, including the Sinovac vaccine which arrived in Indonesia in December 2020. "We are waiting for permission, but of course we do it in parallel so we can. "We will immediately start this vaccination. We do it according to the schedule around the second week we can start doing this vaccination," he said.

Previously, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the government plans to immediately distribute the COVID-19 vaccine to all provinces in Indonesia. Minister of Health Budi hopes that before the community returns to work in January, the vaccination program for health workers can be started.
