Kasasi Kasus KSP Indosurya, Mahfud MD: Kita Perlu Tak Cara PDIP Perjuangan Haknya Saat Reform 1998

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police agreed with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD that the state should not lose the Indosurya Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP) fraudulent investment case. The case, which has claimed 23,000 victims, will be reopened.

Mahfud also asked Bareskrim to move according to a coordination meeting between ministries and government agencies recently. The meeting was held after the West Jakarta District Court acquitted Henry Surya and June Indria, two defendants in the KSP Indosurya case.

"Bareskrim, good, come on. We have a coordination meeting. Confiscated the assets, hunting for the people to go anywhere," Mahfud said on his Twitter account, @mohmahfudmd, Tuesday, January 31.

That way, Mahfud asked law enforcement officers who filed an appeal for this case to again search the location and time of the crime.

"We are just strong, the cases are raised one by one according to the tempus delicti and locus delicti, respectively. The state cannot lose," said Mahfud.

Mahfud said facing cases such as cases of fraud and embezzlement of KSP Indosurya funds, law enforcement officers could imitate the PDIP Perjuangan (PDIP) steps when politically suppressed before the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia Suharto was ousted or the 1998 reform era.

"Facing a case like Indo Surya, maybe we need to imitate the way PDIP is when fighting for its rights when it is stuck politically ahead of the 1998 reforms. PDIP continues to file demands in various courts throughout Indonesia. Anyway, be strong," said Mahfud.

The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD admitted that the government did not expect the West Jakarta District Court to impose acquittal on the bosses of KSP Indosurya Henry Surya and June Indria.

Mahfud MD said that the Attorney General's Office (AGO) would appeal the decision of the Supreme Court which acquitted the two defendants. He conveyed this after a coordination meeting with the AGO, Polri, and the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki on Friday 27 January.

In addition to filing an appeal, the government will also implement the PKP decision of Pradilan Niafa which has won the Government and customers to take assets from the defendant and then distribute them.

"That's the court's decision, the only problem is that now the management is still the old one, we will take legal steps," said Mahfud after a coordination meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs office.
