TANGERANG Ikmal Ramadhan, a 27-year-old man in South Tangerang, was arrested by the police for the crime of robbery at Indomaret Jalan Raya Puspitek, Setu, South Tangerang (Tangsel). Ikmal took IDR 17,235,000. The mode is pretending to be shopping.

Cisauk Police Chief AKP Syabillah Putri Ramadhani said the incident occurred on Monday morning, January 30.

The incident began when the perpetrator came to Indomaret pretending to buy goods. But when he wanted to pay, Ikmal entered the cashier area and threw a machete at the cashier.

"There the perpetrator immediately pointed a machete at the witness and the reporter (Indomaret's report at the scene), immediately took the money at the cashier. The amount taken by the perpetrator was 17 million," Syabillah told reporters, Monday, January 30.

"When he took, the witness and the reporter were in a state of fear and could not do anything. They just remained silent," he continued.

After successfully taking the money, the perpetrator went to the motorbike he was carrying. However, when he was about to go to the parking lot, Ikmal's motorbike was pulled by witnesses and reporters. Until finally assisted by residents, Ikmal was arrested.

"After he took the money, the perpetrator immediately left Indomaret and was chased by the witness and the reporter tried to pull the perpetrator's shirt and pulled the motorbike and was arrested and secured," he said.

The perpetrators were immediately taken to the Cisauk Police Station for legal proceedings. When questioned by officers, Ikmal admitted that he would use the proceeds of his crime to pay off debts and play slot gambling.
