Many Things Change For Tourists To Go Up To Borobudur Temple Later

JAKARTA - Tourists at Borobudur Temple need to receive education when the temple building has been opened to the public.

"Our concentration after the revocation of the rules for the imposition of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) is how later we will jointly escort tourists who are allowed to go up to the temple," said General Manager of the Borobudur Unit of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur Prambanan and Ratu Boko (TWC) Jamaludin Mawardi, in Magelang, Central Java, Monday 30 January.

According to him, if that goes on it will be something new, the new culture of people traveling to Borobudur Temple is because there are restrictions on going up the temple. This needs to be introduced to the public.

"In the past, there was no need for reservations or bookings to ride the Borobudur Temple, the important thing is that tourists come, they can definitely go up. In the future there is a new paradigm to be able to come and can go up to Borobudur Temple, they must be willing to make reservations," he said as quoted by Antara.

He conveyed that in the future if visitors do not order, it is not guaranteed that there will be an opportunity to go up to the temple because there are restrictions.

"This is something new, because it is limited so that it forms a new behavior, familiarizes people with new habits, in the past they did not use special sandals to ride the temple, in the future they must wear sandals," he said.

Jamaludin said first that tourists want to wear shoes or other footwear are allowed, in the future they must wear special sandals. In the future there must be new habits that must be educated to tourists.

According to him, the plan is already there to legalize its implementation, meaning that the parties involved are not only PT TWC and the Borobudur Conservation Center (BKB), at a higher level, there are a number of ministries that determine policies.

"Our stage is to prepare a service system including standard operating procedures (SOPs) for visits, starting from reservation, sandals, guides, and visit counters," he said.

According to him, so far, four internal simulations have been carried out to ride Borobudur Temple.
